Safari Tour Sharm El Sheikh Abu galum and blue hole
Abu Galum is a 400-square-kilometer Managed Resource Protected Area on the east coast of South Sinai, halfway between Dahab and Nuweiba. It protects a variety of coastal and mountain habitats that are unique to the Gulf of Aqaba.
The coral reef is generally undisturbed, with a large variety of reef fish and an abundance of flora and fauna. The reef at Abu Galum supports an active Bedouin artisanal fisherman, and you can see people standing in the water (and, unfortunately, on the reef) and fishing in other protected areas.
They do, however, supply local restaurants with the fish they catch throughout the day. The fishery was regulated (EEAA) a few years ago to help protect the fragile coral reef. One of Egypt’s most picturesque protectorates is Abu Galum.
This area has about 165 plant species due to its high mountains, wadis, freshwater springs, attractive sand dunes, coral reefs, and gravel alluvial fans. About 45 of these species are unique to Abu Galum and can only be found there.
This tour includes a Land Cruiser (4×4) ride as well as a lunch in Dahab. On a private day excursion from Sharm El Sheikh, you will go on a jeep safari, dive the Blue Hole, ride a camel, and do bargain shopping in Dahab.
